Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has declared a latest recruitment notification of 162 Civil Judge vacancies on the official website at www.tnpsc.gov.in . If you are interested and want to apply may fill an online application form and submit it online. Candidates will be selected on the basis of both written examination and oral interviews.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) established in 1923. The core responsibility of this commission is to conduct examinations for direct recruitment to the services of the state.

All Interested and Eligible candidates may apply online from 26-08-2014 to 21-09-2014. Below we have mentioned some details such as eligibility criteria which include education qualification, age limit, selection process, application fee, how to apply.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

• For Practicing Advocates / Pleaders and Assistant Public Prosecutors- Candidates age limit should not below than 25 Years and should not exceed 40 years.


• For Fresh Law Graduates candidates- Should not below 22 Years and not more than 27 Years

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess a degree in Law of a University in India established under a Central Act or a State Act or an Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission. For Fresh Law Graduates must possess a Degree in Law from a recognized University. Read official recruitment notification for more details .

Selection Process:

Selection will be done on the basis of Written Examination and oral test.

Examination Fee

• Candidates should pay Rs.175/- (i.e Cost of Application Rs.50/- + Examination Fee Rs.125/-)


• For reserved categories candidate Rs 50/- (Cost of application)


• Application fee should paid through Online/Offline mode.

Online Mode

• Through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card payment

Offline Mode:

• Through Challan (generated from website) in any Indian Bank branch or Post Office. Payment should be made with in two days from date of submission of application.

How to Apply

• Candidates should apply only through on-line in the Commission’s website www.tnpsc.gov.in or in www.tnpscexams.net.


• But before that, candidates should have scanned image of their photograph and signature.


• Mentioned a valid e-mail ID or mobile number and it should be kept active till the declaration of results.

Instructions to Apply 

• You Just Log on to the TNPSC website www.tnpsc.gov.in or www.tnpscexams.net.


• Click on the “One Time Registration” link


• Now Select the appropriate position.


• Click on the “Apply Online” Link.


• Now start filling application form with all correct details.


• Upload the scanned files of photograph and signature at the proscribed place.


• On submission of application form, system will generate Application Number and Password will be generated, note it down


• Take a print out of application form for future reference

Important Dates:

• Date of Notification: 26-08-2014


• Last Date to Apply Online: 21-09-2014


• Last Date for payment of Fee through Bank or Post Office: 23-09-2014

TNPS Exam Date

• Translation Paper: 18-10-2014 from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM.


• Law Paper-I: 18-10-2014 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.


• Law Paper-II: 19-10-2014 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.


• Law Paper –III: 19-10-2014 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
