As per official stats, ASRB is going recruit candidates for scientist post. There are total 295 vacancies to be available for this recruitment. Interested candidates must apply in the prescribed format through online mode on or before 8th September 2014. No other mode of application is allowed

The ASRB was established on 1 November 1973. Right now they are going to conduct combined ARS-2014 (Preliminary) Examination and NET-2014(II) during 22.9.2014 to 28.9.2014 in Online mode. There are 23 Centers across India are appointed for this examination.

Eligibility Criteria

Age limit

Candidates age limit should be in the age group between 21 to 32 years as on 01-08-2014. Age relaxation will be applicable as per government rules.

Educational qualification

• For ARS- Candidate should hold a Master’s Degree or equivalent in the concerned discipline with specialization. See recruitment Notification for more details.


• For NET- Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned Discipline along with specialization.

Application fee

For ARS Prelims

• General and OBC category candidates- Rs. 500/-


• SC/ ST / PwD / Women Candidates- No Fee Required.

For NET II Prelims

• Unreserved & OBC category candidates Rs. 1000/- for Rs Both Exams (ARS & NET)


• Reserved & Women Candidates- Rs. 250/-

For Both Exams (ARS & NET)-

• Unreserved Candidate- Rs. 1500/-


• Reserved Candidates- Rs. 250/-

Selection process

Selection process for ARS 2014 is depend on both the Preliminary and Main Examination and viva-voce. Preliminary Examination is mandatory for all candidates. Those candidate who qualify the ARS-2014 (Preliminary) Examination will be eligible to appear in the ARS-2014 (Main) Examination. Those Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will

be eligible for Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs.

Pay Band-

Selected candidates will get Rs. 15,600-39,100 plus Research Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/-.

Those candidates need to appear for the Examination must apply online in the prescribed Application Form on the website: http://www.asrb.org.in . There is no need to attach copy of any of the documents, certificates at the time of submission of online application.

• You just log on to http://www.asrb.org.in .


• Now you have to choose option to apply for ARS-2014 only / NET-2014(II) or Both


• Fill your application form very carefully


• Mention your valid and active e-mail id in the form, because all communication & information for this


• Examination would be sent to this mail id only.


• Now pay the application fee by using your Debit/Credit


• You have to keep UTR Number which is provided by the Bank, if you are adopting the NEFT / Challan payment


• option.


• Upload the scanned copy of your recent passport size photograph(Max sixe 150 KB in .jpg format only) & Signature(80 KB in .jpg) at prescribed place.


• Take a print out of confirmation page.
